Congratulations!

Well done to Ra for receiving the Under 8 Saracens Blue "Player of the year" trophy this year.

Congratulations also to Neve and Millie for their badges in ballet. It's so lovely to be able to celebrate the success our children have in activities outside the classroom.

The Instruments Are Finished!

What a fantastic job the children, under the guidance of MRs Buick, have made. They have made guitars, shakers, castanets and drums and they are all extremely proud of their efforts. The amount of creativity, interaction, problem solving, patience and team work that went into making these was great to watch. All the children are now practising keeping in time to the beat and are hoping to perform at this weeks Assembly.

What a treat that will be!!!

Music in the Making

Mrs Buick has been hard at work with the children talking about making instruments and how to make and respond to music. Earlier in the week the children designed their instruments on paper. Today the children started making theses instruments.

They were very excited and so involved in the experience.

Millie's Lamb Visits

We have it all happening in Room 4 - a week or two back it was a puppy and yesterday we had a very gorgeous pet lamb visit. He is two weeks old and is very, very cute.

Thanks Millie for sharing him with us.

The NZ ArmyBand

What a great morning we had on Monday. After a very long bus ride we we ushered in an extremely organised way into the CBS arena to watch the show. As I had never seen the band perform before I was unsure what to expect - but did think there would be a lot of band music that we just sat and listened too. A great cultural experience that would have been too.

What we got was so much more.. we were totally entertained as the band, with the help of "What Now" took on a journey around the world to look for Camilla, the gorilla. At each stop we heard music from that region. It was a very interactive, age appropriate show that had the children on the edge of their seats as they tried to help find Camilla.

A great morning was had by all.

Week Two, Term 3

This week Ollie showed us the trophy he won for playing awesome rugby this season in the Under 8's at Ashley. Well done Ollie.

At the start of the week Mrs Buick started full control and the first day saw her helping a reading group make mini worm farms. A big effort on the first day - but I am glad to report that the worm farms are up and running and alive!!!!

Also last week we went back to swimming and gymnastics. This time we got to use the uneven bars. The experiences the children are getting are amazing. If you are free on a Tuesday afternoon call in and watch your children in action.

Who Ever Said School Wasn't Fun??????

Wow! We are back... and what a week it has been so far. We started the term with a visit to the Art Roadshow, Tuesday was our first swimming lesson and gymnastics/trampolining session and today we had Ronald McDonald make a surprise visit to share a road safety message and then a session with the Mainpower Sports boys. On top of this Harri and Jaxon brought in their brand new puppy to show us.

Also this term I have a third year student teacher who will be on three weeks full control. Some of you may have met Fiona Buick at the end of last term as she visited while Mrs Lilley was in charge.

Take a look at the week so far.
