Bokashi Buckets

Last week Lesley Ottey from the Council came to talk to us about recycling. She showed us photos of what happens to milk cartons and paper rubbish and she also talked to us about food scraps.

The council has donated a Bokashi bucket to each classroom around the school. This bucket is for recycling food scraps that the worms don't like. It has a special product added that breaks down the food and also produces a liquid that is good for the garden.

In the picture Millie is showing us some of the components from milk cartons and Lesley is explaining the Bokashi buckets.

  1. Yes these buckets are fantastic. In Room 6 we are taking extra care to put the correct things in ours. Thanks so much to Lesley Ottey.
